FIELD NOTES

What this information means

Each field answers only part of the question. When troubleshooting a connection, assess the public address, region, ISP, and the target service’s actual behavior together.

IP

Public address

The address shown on this page is the public IP used by your current connection, not the device’s address on the local network. After switching routes and running the lookup again, the public IP will usually change with the route. If it does not, check that the client is connected and that browser traffic follows the intended rules.

GEO

Country or region

Geolocation comes from an IP database and reflects the address block’s registration or common area of use, not the device’s exact location. The target service may use a different database, so small differences are common. When accessing content intended for a specific region, rely on the target service’s actual result.

ISP

Internet service provider

The ISP field identifies the network, data center, or autonomous system associated with the public address. It can help determine whether traffic is using the expected route, but cannot prove route quality on its own. Judge connection stability by combining real-world access, reply continuity, and performance at different times.

PROXY

Proxy detection

Proxy detection is a reference label assigned by a database based on address type and historical signals. A detected proxy signal does not mean the connection is faulty; no detected signal does not mean the target service will make the same assessment. If additional verification appears, avoid frequent region changes and keep the public location consistent.

DNS CHECK

DNS Leak Check

A changed public IP does not guarantee that DNS resolution uses the same route. If DNS requests are still handled by a local network resolver, the target site may see a resolution source that does not match the public region.

Keep test conditions consistent

Connect to the route you plan to use, close apps that are switching networks in the background, then refresh this page to record the public region. Do not change routes repeatedly during testing, or the results cannot be compared.

Check the resolver source

Use the client’s built-in connection diagnostics or a trusted DNS check page to review the resolver’s network and region. If the resolver still points to a local ISP or clearly differs from the current public region, continue checking the DNS settings.

Check client mode

Confirm that DNS takeover, rule mode, and the system’s encrypted DNS settings are not overriding one another. After making changes, disconnect and reconnect, then repeat the same checks. If the browser has its own secure DNS enabled, review its resolution policy as well.
